A woman wearing a VR headset interacts with a digital interface. Her sweater pixelates into the background, creating a futuristic vibe.
Testing cutting-edge experience: A person evaluates innovative XR technology while immersed in a virtual environment.

Once your training has been fully developed and every interaction has been programmed, there is one more essential step before your learners ever see it: Quality Assurance Testing.

This post is Part Seven of our “What to Expect When You Work With MadXR” series, where we walk you through every stage of building custom immersive training.

QA Testing is where we slow down, zoom in, and test every detail to make sure your experience is accurate, intuitive, and polished.

1. What Does QA Look Like in Immersive Training?

QA in VR, AR, and interactive three-dimensional training is much more than finding bugs.

Our QA testers step into the experience as if they were your learner. Their job is to

  • Follow the training from start to finish

  • Try every interaction from multiple angles and speeds

  • Test every possible learner path

  • Check that the instructions make sense

  • Ensure the learning objective is being met

  • Confirm the visuals, audio, and prompts support the lesson

  • Push the boundaries of the experience

This level of testing ensures that learners do not just complete the module. They understand it.

2. Why QA is Especially Important in VR and AR

A typo in an e learning course is a minor annoyance. A misaligned object or broken interaction in VR is a training risk.

Immersive experiences require thorough QA because

  • Incorrect logic can teach the wrong procedure

  • Poor performance can cause dizziness or discomfort

  • Broken interactions can halt learner progress

  • Visual issues can break immersion

  • Misleading cues can create unsafe real world habits

QA protects both the learner experience and the integrity of the training itself.

3. MadXR’s QA Process

To create smooth, accurate, and reliable training, we follow a structured multi step QA process.

Step 1: Internal QA Testing

Our QA team tests the experience from start to finish, looking for

  • Interaction issues

  • Logic errors

  • UI visibility or clarity problems

  • Audio timing issues

  • Visual inconsistencies

  • Performance dips

Step 2: Device Testing

We test your experience on the actual target device. This may include

  • VR headsets

  • Mobile AR

  • Desktop

  • Web based environments. Each device has different performance requirements.

Step 3: Instructional QA

We test to ensure the training

  • Matches the learning objectives

  • Follows the correct steps

  • Reinforces the right behaviors

  • Gives clear guidance and feedback

This step ensures training accuracy, not just technical accuracy.

Step 4: UX and Accessibility QA

We check for

  • Comfort

  • Usability

  • Clarity

  • Pace

  • Learner flow

  • Visual focus

Step 5: Client Review

You will receive a nearly final build for review. We guide you through

  • What to test

  • How to test it

  • What to look for

  • How to submit feedback

Step 6: Fixes and Polish

We address all findings, refine the experience, and prepare the final build.

4. What Sets MadXR’s QA Apart

Most studios test for bugs.MadXR tests for learning.

Our QA testers follow the exact steps your real learners will take. They evaluate

  • Is the step clear

  • Does the prompt make sense

  • Does the learner know what to do next

  • Does the scoring support the learning

  • Does the experience guide them toward correct behavior

This ensures the training is not only functional but effective, safe, and instructionally sound.

5. What You Will Review During QA

During this phase, you will typically review

  • A nearly final version of the module

  • The full learner flow

  • The UI and prompts

  • Any scoring or feedback systems

You do not need technical expertise. We handle the complex parts and you simply experience the training and share your perspective.

6. What Comes Next

Once QA is complete and all refinements are made, your training moves into the final stage: Delivery and Deployment.

In Part Eight of our “What to Expect When You Work with MadXR” series, we will walk you through how we

  • Package your final build

  • Deliver all source files

  • Provide your complete three dimensional assets

  • Help you choose your delivery method

  • Integrate your training into the platform of your choice
