About

We build the training we wished we'd had.

MadXR was started by an engineer who spent a decade in oil and gas, watching people learn dangerous procedures from a slide deck and a signature sheet. That is still the problem we work on.

Where we came from

Miranda Palmisano spent roughly ten years at Chevron before founding Mad XR LLC. That background is the reason the work looks the way it does — the people we build for are the people we used to work alongside, and the procedures we simulate are ones with real consequences attached.

It also explains a bias that shows up in every project: we care more about whether someone can do the task afterwards than whether the demo looked impressive. Immersive technology is genuinely good at some things and oversold for others, and we would rather tell you which is which than sell you a headset programme you don't need.

What makes us unusual

We publish our prices

Almost no custom studio in this industry does. You can see what a training module costs, what an app costs, and what the add-ons cost, before you talk to anyone.

We build the software too

Immersive studios generally can't build your application. Development shops generally don't understand an industrial workforce. We do both, which means one vendor instead of three.

You own what we build

No per-seat licence, no platform subscription, no annual renewal conversation. Client-specific content and the delivered application belong to you.

We say when it's the wrong tool

The peer-reviewed evidence puts immersive training between equivalent and better, with the strongest results on hands-on physical skills. Its clearest value is where danger, downtime or cost make the real thing impractical. That's the work we take — and we'll tell you when a job aid would do instead.

How we're set up

A small core team with a deep bench — developers, 3D artists, animators, instructional designers and dedicated QA — so we can scale a project up without hiring against your timeline.

Woman-owned

Mad XR LLC is a woman-owned business, registered in Texas. If you run a supplier diversity or small business programme and need our documentation, ask and we'll send it the same day.

Platform partners

We are a named content partner for Motive.io and work across PixoVR, Unity, Unreal and WebXR — so we can deliver into the platform you already own rather than making you adopt ours.

Hardware-neutral

Quest, PICO, VIVE, tablet, desktop or browser. That matters more since Meta stopped selling commercial Quest headsets — we don't have a reason to steer you toward any one vendor.

Come tell us what's not working.

The best conversations we have start with a procedure that keeps going wrong, not with a technology someone read about.
